Instant-on Cloud Laboratories Use Case

Problem:

  • Combine a broad set of independent content (market data, news, charts and research), applications (CRM, portfolio, analytics, back office and order entry) and work flow tools in a single, integrated desktop portal.
  • Reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO includes: vendor subscriptions, hardware, software, real estate, HVAC, power, telecommunications, staff (technical, support and field) and extend the overall lifecycle of capex assets).
  • Plan for scalability, reliability and speed/ease of future product deployment. 

 Project was completed in 32 days with best of breed, market tested products. The firms FC’s were excited at the speed of improvement requests resulting in new tool deployment. FC per capita production increased and client retention rates improved. FlexiSphere: Faster, Cheaper, Safer.

Impact:

FlexiSphere Cloud Labs, working in close cooperation with the business stakeholders and senior management team, designed and prototyped a cloud based wealth management desktop that reduced total cost, improved time to market, was easily adaptive and based on best of breed content and application providers.

Solution:

FlexiSphere Cloud Labs was tasked with creating an "on demand" development environment and leading a project team to deliver a working prototype. The 3 overarching goals of the project were:

A financial services firm in the wealth management business was faced with increasing costs for market data, hardware refresh, software licenses, data center expansion, staff increases and supporting a growing branch office network. Margins were being continually compressed. In addition, due to the size and architecture of the existing install base, new products took far too long to develop and deploy. The firm’s Financial Consultants (FC’s) were at a competitive disadvantage for customer acquisition and retention. A project sponsored by senior management sought to lower costs, improve toolset quality, decrease time to market and create a more scalable and sustainable framework.
